This adorable pregnant cat sheltered herself from the cold on the streets until she found a safe place to give birth to her babies.
Earlier this year a kind-hearted person came across a pregnant cat on the side of a road in Indiana, USA. The feline was in poor condition and covered by snow; You could tell that she had had a very bad time. She was curled up and trying to keep a little warmth in her body.
The person sought the help of the Catsnip Etc rescue center to help the feline. Due to her state of pregnancy and the low temperatures that she had endured, her condition was very delicate and she urgently needed a shelter.
Missy McNeal from Catsnip Etc told Love Meow:
The Good Samaritan immediately turned around and picked her up. She was so kind and sweet and she never stopped purring.
Pregnant cat protected herself from the cold for her future babies
The feline received the name Camilla, and since her arrival at the rescue center she was very sweet and calm. In a short time, she gave birth to 4 adorable kittens under the warmth of a bed and a safe place.
Missy says:
“The first day, she would sit and cover her kittens to protect them. Once she knew we wanted to help her, she was more than happy to let us see how the little ones were doing.”
The mother cat was very underweight and she could not produce enough milk to adequately breastfeed her little ones; so, her volunteers helped her with bottles 24 hours a day to supplement the feeding of the four felines.
The volunteer added:
She was malnourished and very thin when they found her. She didn’t care at all when we came to help feed her kittens. She knew they needed extra help and she seemed very appreciative.
The little ones named: Coco, Cora, Chanel and Carl, were adorable and ate with great enthusiasm. Camilla took care of every movement of her little ones and once she gained some weight and regained her strength, she kept an eye on the needs of her little ones.
The rescue center has:
At 4 1/2 weeks of age, the kittens were reaching the fun stage where their personalities were beginning to show. They were climbing cat trees when their mom wasn’t paying attention to them.
Soon the little ones became great adventurers and enjoyed touring everything and exploring every corner of their home. Camilla always looked after her boys from afar, and she knew they were safe from all danger.
When the kittens were ready to walk around on her own and find a suitable place for them, Camilla released her reins and set about seeking some human affection for herself as well.
The four kittens found their final homes in no time, while Camilla remained in the care of the rescue center. Many of the kittens who shared a home with the feline found new places for her, while Camilla continued to wait through her glass for her magical moment.
Volunteers count:
She was the only one left in our adoption room after a busy day of adoption.
A few days after the Memorial Day celebration, Camilla was visited by a family of hers who fell madly in love with her immediately, so they decided to provide her with a forever home. The feline was happy and she enjoyed the pampering and affection of her new human family.
Camilla purred vigorously as her new family held her in their arms, finally and after three months under the care of the volunteers she would leave to start the best chapter of her life.
