MeonJi is a Scottish Fold cat blacker than black itself, and thanks to its appearance, the adorable feline has a special talent for hiding. MeonJi is the kind of cat that surprises you most of the time and before you know it, she’s watching you from the least expected places.
Whenever she gets the chance, MeonJi loves to find new hiding places to enjoy her nap. In fact, for this cat, hiding is very simple because it is completely black and can blend in wherever it is.
Due to his unique camouflage ability, his family often doesn’t know his whereabouts and are surprised when they finally see him.
An adorable and extraordinary cat takes over the internet
The name MeonJi means “powder”. This charming 4-year-old Korean cat from Daejeon is quite a curious and somewhat mischievous boy.
Kim, the cat’s mother, said in an interview with Bored Panda:
“I really didn’t like black cats very much. But since I met my cat, I completely fell in love with black cats. So far I’m very happy with the attention we’re getting, but I want people around the world to know that all cats are cute, no matter what color!”
Unfortunately, the coat color of a cat or dog plays an important role in its fate. Statistics indicate that black animals take longer to be adopted than cats of other colors.
A recent study from shelters in Colorado, USA found that black cats took around 26 days to be adopted, compared to 20 days for felines of other coats.
Unfortunately, many people also consider black cats to be a lucky charm. Even in the middle of 2021, absurd as it may seem, black cats are still associated with ancient superstitions, black magic among many other things.
Kim says:
“I’m not going to lie, I really wasn’t attracted to black cats originally, but as soon as I saw my cat, I totally fell in love with black cats. If you ask me now, I’ll would say they are the best!”
One of MeonJi’s favorite places to nap is her cat bed, although it’s not a shocking place because MeonJi fits in so well, sometimes when she’s curled up there, all you can see is a pair of round, shining eyes.
If the cat’s eyes are closed while it is resting in its small cave, it is impossible to know that it is there. As soon as he opens his eyes, he looks like he’s floating in a vacuum, it’s a pretty funny scene actually.
MeonJi’s family is used to his jokes. However, they couldn’t help but capture an image of their cat becoming one with the void, and of course no one could help but be upstaged by the feline on the internet.
