A unique challenge was placed in their path, but two little souls proved they were ready to take it on. Two kittens arrived at the shelter, they needed immediate help and care. Thanks to kind-hearted volunteers, they found a place to live. The little sister took care of her blind brother, who barely opened his eyes and already had to struggle with every step. Finally, there was hope on the horizon. They will remember the vet’s words forever.

A woman adopted a pair of kittens. Life did not spare them

Destiny has decided to test the endurance of two kittens and bring out their most beautiful traits: courage, love and the incredible bond that unites them. One day, these orphans, only three weeks old, arrived at the shelter. Their fur was soft and fluffy, and the misty eyes of one of them suggested it was blind.

They needed immediate help and care. Their dramatic fate touched the volunteers of the kitten shelter, who decided to take the animals under their wing. Jamie, a wonderful volunteer, welcomed them under her roof.

“I’m already in love with them, she said.”

As soon as they crossed the threshold of their new home, the siblings began to look around curiously, discovering and absorbing the new world before them. But more importantly, they immediately embraced each other as if they were each other’s only refuge in this unknown world.

The kitten siblings were attached to each other. Separated, he cried constantly

From the start, the siblings were inseparable. For some reason, it was decided to name them in homage to the cartoon The Flintstones. Even though kittens Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm were only three weeks old, they had already become attached to each other.

“Pebbles acts like a real babysitter, constantly snuggling up to Bamm-Bamm and following him everywhere. I see these kittens will be bonded forever”, said the caregiver.

Jamie took care of her siblings 24/7. She fed and watered them, ensuring their nutrition. However, due to tummy problems, the kittens did not grow as quickly as they should have. At 4-5 weeks old, they were the size of 2-week-old kittens.

What was really beautiful was the fact that the two kittens supported each other and constantly tried to be close to each other. They reacted badly to the separation. When they were apart, they cried terribly until they were together again.

The woman made an astonishing discovery. The kitten wasn’t blind at all

About two weeks after taking them in, Jamie noticed something surprising. Bamm-Bamm, whose bleary eyes suggested he had lost his sight, was not blind at all. She made this surprising discovery while playing together, when the kitten started following her hand and even tried to catch it when she waved it in front of his eyes.

“Bamm-Bamm’s eyes began to look less blurry and he found he could see, at least a little.”

Despite slowed development, both kittens began to achieve their goals. They have learned to use the litter box on their own and eating solid food has not been a problem.

Eventually, Bamm-Bamm went to see a specialist and his sister Pebbles was there to help him. As they are inseparable, they left together. She was there to support him emotionally.

“The doctor thinks Bamm-Bamm had an infection before he even opened his eyes. Whatever the cause, Bamm-Bamm is expected to make a full recovery and regain vision in both eyes.”

The kitten still faces a long recovery, but its caregiver is full of hope for the future. She managed to accept the fact that the animal was blind and that it was no problem for her. However, when she thought that the kitten would finally be able to see her beloved sister, her heart warmed.

“I’m always amazed at how flexible and resilient cats are, even in harsh conditions. With proper care, they can recover quickly”, says Jamie.
