Bruno, an adorable one-year-old dog, was at one point faced with the seemingly helpless prospect of ending his life in despair. This is often what happens when an animal is abandoned and forgotten by its family; however, Bruno was given another chance to rediscover love.
His rescuers from the Wake County, North Carolina SPCA SPCA of Wake County wrote on their Facebook page:
“Bruno used to live outside in chains. And they ripped his ear off when another dog attacked him and he couldn’t run away. »
Despite physical evidence of neglect and abuse, Bruno’s inner strength shone through, revealing a much brighter future. What seemed like the end for him was only the beginning of his new journey.
A dog with a missing ear modifies his favorite toy

Despite the circumstances of his initial life, Bruno’s heart was full of hope and love. To make him feel more comfortable during his stay at the shelter, he received a familiar friend: a stuffed animal from which he has been inseparable ever since. Together they have created countless memories that you will cherish in your heart even after you leave this place.
From then on, Bruno made sure never to feel isolated again; he was determined to have someone in his presence from then on.
Shelter staff say:
“Bruno ripped off one of his favorite stuffed animal’s ears, the same ear he’s missing. The staff member who found this couldn’t believe it…”

It seemed like he was trying to show that even if his favorite toy had a “flaw”, it could still be just as adorable. Maybe someone else thought the same.
The SPCA said:
“Bruno knows everything is fine at home and now he has a best friend like him to prove it. »
If Bruno wanted to make a statement with his bespoke toy, the message sure got through. After Bruno’s story was shared by the Wake County SPCA and shared on social media, everyone understood what he meant!
After a long wait, the long-awaited news finally arrived: they had finally found a home.

Shelter staff wrote:
“Bruno has a new dad! Of course, her matching teddy has to go with her so they can be friends forever. Bruno’s adopter loves him as he is and has promised to show Bruno nothing but unconditional love for the rest of his life. »

Despite the pain and anguish that haunts Bruno’s past, he has now embarked on a new journey of joy and fulfilment. The Wake County SPCA stresses that all animals in its shelter need ongoing medical care to survive; Bruno is no different, as he needs treatment for his heartworm disease.
