In Montreal, Canada, a woman named Lisianne observed a friendly homeless cat in her garden snooping around and looking for some food and water, so the woman offered her what she was looking for.
Although the cat was a bit shy and kept away from people, she kept coming back every day to quench her hunger and thirst. On her side, Lisianne, she always had a bowl of food and a bowl of water ready for her; she was determined to help the feline.
On one of her daily visits, Lisianne noticed that the cat’s belly was too round and that she might be pregnant.

After a while, the feline returned to the garden without traces of her belly; she apparently gave birth and returned with Lisianne to replenish energy.
Hoping to find the kittens, the woman tried to gain the cat’s trust, so she began to spend more time with her. During the following days, little by little the feline felt more secure with Lisianne and began to feel more sympathy for her.
Lisianne, began to leave her garden door open for the cat to enter whenever she wanted, and soon after her strategy was successful. One day, suddenly the sweet feline had enough courage to enter the house and even dared to ask for some affection.
Finally, what Lisianne wanted so badly happened; the cat came back to eat, but this time she brought six little guests, and one by one she introduced them to her friend. The woman was happy to meet the feline’s babies, and of course, she welcomed them all into her comfortable abode.
Although the kittens were a bit shy due to little contact with humans, the woman decided to make a good room for them to install them. She then contacted her local shelter, Chatons Orphelins Montréal, for help, as she wanted everyone to be tested, sterilized and adopted.
The cat brought her beautiful black kittens and an adorable tabby cat to the person she trusted, and she quickly won her love.
Celine Crom, who runs the shelter, told Love Meow:
“Lisianne decided to stay with the mother cat and officially adopted her. She took great care of her, had her examined and sterilized. One of the kittens (tabby) went home with one of her friends.”
The remaining kittens were taken to the shelter’s premises so that they could receive the medical attention they needed and be able to find a home.
Shelter volunteers realized that the little kittens had received help just in time, with conjunctivitis and shortness of breath.
One of the kittens, Tito, was born with a deformity in one of his paws, and is now in good hands receiving care for his recovery.
“All five are beautiful long-haired black cats: three girls (Taylor, Tynie and Tyana) and two boys (Tales and Tito). They were a bit shy at first, but once they got to their foster home, they quickly came out of their shells.”
The kittens appear to be a miniature copy of their mother and are enjoying their comfortable new life in the shelter’s premises. They will soon be ready to find a permanent home, but Tito, as he grows older, will need some special treatments for his paw.
Tynie and Tyana, sharing an adorable sibling bond, tend to stay very close and hopefully they can find a loving home where they can stay together.
Thanks to Lisianne’s help, this homeless cat and her babies were able to find the help they needed and will now be safe.
