This animal-loving pharmacist provides shelter and care for animals arriving at her pharmacy in Turkey.
Banu Cengiz, is a pharmacist from Turkey, who loves dogs. She rescued her street dog years ago and also maintains a homeless place outside her pharmacy for all homeless dogs who cannot be adopted.
This week, Banu was at work as usual when he noticed that a dog outside acted differently from the others. Instead of, for example, lying on the beds she kindly provided them, the dog stood as if he was waiting for something at the door.
She said to The Dodo:
He was looking at me. I said, “Baby, is there a problem?”

Banu invited the dog to come and realized that there was indeed a problem: the poor dog was bleeding from a small wound in his paw.
He was asking for help, as we can see in this video, the woman was more than happy to give it to him.

Banu cleaned the dog’s wound with an antiseptic and, when the bleeding stopped, gave him antibiotics.
The canine patient seemed to understand the woman’s good intentions and waited patiently for her leg to heal.
Banu said:
When I finished, he lay down to thank me.
Banu’s pharmacy served as a small recovery area for this homeless dog, which gave this adorable creature a chance to rest for a while. He also received food and water, as well as a dog bed that Banu keeps inside.
The dog had reached the right place, and he knew it.
When he closed the pharmacy, the dog seemed to have recovered, his eyes and his energy forced him to return to the street, unfortunately, the stage of life he knew well.
Although Banu helped this dog, she still wished she could do more. But, the pitifully homeless dogs in this region are far from rare.
She said :
Unfortunately, I couldn’t bring him home. I have been dealing with street animals for years. I feed them, I heal them and I help them find a home when I can.
But this little shelter in front of his pharmacy is the best option to help these animals. This is the way she should let the less fortunate dogs, like her patient that day, know that they are still loved.
Banu said:
I do it because they feel. We have to help those who need it. People should teach their children to love and respect animals and nature. Then we can all live together in a beautiful world.
