This adorable stray cat has adopted a litter of kittens and is raising them with her family with all the love and care they need.

An adorable cat named Macy and her 10 adorable kittens were brought to the Humane League of Lancaster County Rescue Center in Pennsylvania to give them a chance at a better life as indoor kittens. Some of the felines came from a different litter, which the sweet cat had decided to raise as her own.

A kind-hearted person who found the stray cat and her babies decided to offer a little help. He tried to find the other mother cat, but managed to figure out that Macy had already started taking care of all the babies like one big mixed family.

Wilma, an adoptive volunteer with the Humane League of Lancaster, told Love Meow:

Since then, Macy’s has taken care of the ten. She is the mother of two litters of kittens together.

At first, Macy was a bit shy and seemed scared after everything she had been through in her past, but she quickly settled into her new home and felt right at home in her cozy nest. The feline relaxed as she stretched out her little paws and was surrounded by her ten kittens.

Wilma says:

Her sweet and cuddly personality didn’t take long to shine through.

Over the first few weeks, Macy devoted herself entirely to caring for her babies. She cared for everyone with love and catered to their every whim without caring at all.

The volunteer says:

She accepts my help with her babies. She loves to be cared for and carried around, so she may have had quite a bit of positive human experience.

To help the mother cat with her care, Wilma supplemented the kittens twice a day with a bottle to ensure all the babies were well fed and cared for.

It was a team effort since the volunteer and the cat alternated between mom’s tasks. After feeding and weighing the babies, Wilma put them back in the nest with Macy.

Wilma says:

Macy is a phenomenal mom to all of his babies, and she’s infinitely patient and caring. There’s no way to tell which kittens are his and which are from the other litter, and he treats them exactly the same way.

Now the little kittens are about 4.5 weeks old, learning their litter box skills, and have started eating big cat food.

These fluffy boys are entering the teenage phase, they are more active, curious and mischievous. They are interested in toys and playing wrestling has become quite a sport.

When Macy needs a break from the kittens and her motherly duties, all ten gather on their adoptive mother’s lap and almost immediately activate their purr engines in unison.

Macy adores her family and enjoys her life as an indoor cat, often taking every opportunity with her humans to get a few pets and cuddles. As soon as she finishes her mommy duties, she will be sterilized and find a loving family to live happily ever after.
