As soon as Mr. Roger Massey noticed a pit bull dog hiding in the woods, he knew he had to do something. However, he didn’t expect that saving the dog would not be so easy.
Roger tried for three weeks, even asking animal rescuers for help. Unfortunately, the dog did not trust people and so the rescue operation was unsuccessful. In the meantime, Roger brought him food and water, hoping to get closer to him.
Because the dog, whom he named Pappa, had such a dark past, he probably believed that humans were just as evil as his previous owners, and didn’t know that they were just trying to help him.
Eventually, the animal rescuers managed to put a leash on his head, and the poor dog was so tired that he couldn’t resist anymore, he just surrendered.
As soon as Pappa felt the warm touch of one of his rescuers, something changed inside him. He no longer felt threatened and it allowed him to show his true personality.
Pappa was now the sweetest dog who just wanted to be loved, and the rescuers and Roger couldn’t have been happier.
Upon his arrival at the veterinary clinic, he was thoroughly examined by a veterinarian.
Unfortunately, Pappa was diagnosed with severe arthritis and tested positive for heartworm. He immediately began taking joint medications and supplements.
But he didn’t let this news ruin his new life! Fortunately, in no time she found a temporary and loving home, where she learned what it means to be truly loved.
