Nikita William, from West Midlands, England, uses a lot of force every time she walks Hugo, a nearly 2-year-old dog who was born with bony deformities in his legs and one leg had to be amputated. Since he is heavy and needs help, the woman thinks her ideal owner should be strong and love her.
We are all different, and this is something that also happens in the animal kingdom, but there are very specific cases in which help, patience and strength are needed more than ever. This is the example of Hugo, an almost 2-year-old mastiff who was born with deformed leg bones.
This situation forced the vets to amputate one of his legs, which is why he only has three and needs a lot of support to do certain things.
His guardian Nikita William from West Midlands (England) goes out of his way to help him with anything he needs and take him for a ride in his car, but as the dog weighs 34 kilograms and is almost his height, it has to exert a lot of force when transporting.
Hugo’s first owners were unable to get medical help for his severely deformed paw, and when they moved overseas, they had to abandon him. Hull Animal Welfare rescued him and that’s when Nikita fell in love with him.
“He’s just a young dog and he wasn’t doing very well in the kennels, so they called me and asked if I knew anyone who could take care of him. I went to pick him up the next day. “, Nikita told Metro.
“They took X-rays of his other paws and told us there was really nothing we could do, we just had to see how he was doing,” the caregiver explained according to the site. Thus, the bones of Hugo’s legs became deformed while supporting all his weight.
That’s why vets are looking for a way to get him a wheelchair, even though he only uses his car to get around. Although Nikita has to do a lot on his part to push the car, he says he’s happy because it’s something worth doing for Hugo, who loves rides.
An important aspect to consider when finding a family for him, as Nikita said the ideal owner would be strong and have plenty of free time to meet Hugo’s needs, as well as help him have fun.
