A kitten found a safe place in a piece of furniture and his family donated it to a store without counting that it was inside, luckily, they found out in time.
If cats are known for anything, it’s how independent and elusive they tend to be. A tabby feline named Montequlla was inadvertently abandoned by its owners because while donating a chair to a thrift store, it walked inside. Fortunately, store employees contacted an animal rescue organization and authorities, removed the playful kitten and were able to reunite him with his family who searched for him by land, sea and sky.
The kitten hides in the moving chair and ends up getting lost
In the most remote places, cats will always look for a way to explore or just relax. Montequlla’s family was about to move and decided to donate a recliner to a thrift store, but they forgot to explore it and make sure nothing and no one came in. inside.
It turns out the family’s kitten was in that cabinet and upon examining it, local employees noticed its presence, so they contacted the Denver Animal Protection Foundation to remove it and find its family.

Thanks to the fact that they knew the proper techniques, they were able to remove it without hurting it and then have it checked. It was there that they realized he was a house cat because he was healthy, well-groomed and microchipped.
Although it was considered abandoned, they hoped to speak with the family to see what they had left and realized that the microchip data was not up to date, therefore, they did not find the whereabouts of its owners.
“The thrift store contacted Denver Animal Protection to retrieve the cat. Officer Humphreys scanned the cat, but the microchip was not updated.” The Denver, USA animal shelter publication said.
Reunion between lost kitten and his family
The owners of this cat realized the absence of their feline and began to look for it, between the worry that they remembered what they had given so they went to the pet store and what surprise, the same employees told him at the place that the cat was feline, between relief and a lot of despair they went to the shelter.
An officer named Humphreys who was present at all times handed over the kitten and witnessed the loving reunion between the family and Montequlla, they were undoubtedly times of concern for them, but they finally had their beloved companion.
“We are very happy with the end of this story and are grateful to everyone involved for bringing this sweet cat home safely.” Denver Animal Shelter posted.
Now this wonderful kitten knows that hiding so well is not always good and he needs to be more careful about this, of course the family has also understood this, fortunately nothing has happened to the adults and it stuck as a funny story that went viral because of its happy ending.
