When Suzette Hall, an abandoned animal rescue expert, recently received a phone call, she thought it was a rescue call. As the founder of Logan’s Legacy, we are always rescuing abandoned pets in Orange County, California. But this request was a little different.

The caller said he saw two small dogs in his neighborhood and was concerned about their behavior.

The dogs appeared to have been abandoned by their former families. In addition to waiting for days in the same place, the two guys refused to leave each other’s side.

โ€œThe dogs literally walked down the road together and then came back,โ€ Suzette said. โ€œWe never left each other.โ€

Neighbors tried to lure the dogs, later named Pongo and Lily, to their home and care for them, but to no avail.

After several failed attempts, concerned neighbors prepared beds, food and water for the dogs, then called emergency services.

From what her neighbors said, Suzette knew that saving them wouldn’t be easy. In fact, two dogs are generally more difficult to catch than one. However, Suzette knew these dogs were in dire need of help, so she spread the word to other local rescue groups and asked for help. Another local rescuer named Chloe also arrived.

Suzette, Chloรฉ and their respective rescue teams immediately acted collectively.

First, the rescue team placed snacks and set up a secure trapping frame. Everyone held their breath and watched as Pongo and Lily approached the trap.

Mr Suzette said: โ€œPongo walked into the trap quicker than expected. But Lily wasn’t there yet.

When Lily jumped under the car to escape rescuers, they used a door to prevent her from getting out.

Shortly after, Lily was carried into Mr. Suzette’s arms, along with her best friend, Pongo.

โ€œIt was so cute to see how connected these two guys were to each other,โ€ Suzette said. โ€œThey were thin, scared and adorable all at the same time.โ€

The dogs were immediately reunited and placed directly with a foster family where they received well-deserved baths and haircuts.

Lily and Pongo have adapted well and are getting healthier every day. And since these two dogs can never be separated, we are looking for a forever family that can welcome them both into the family.
