A resident of Kolbuszowa (south-eastern Poland) was walking past a trash can when she heard disturbing noises coming from it. She immediately opened the hatch and called the police. The culprit of this cruel act turned out to be a 77-year-old man, who faces up to 3 years in prison for his cruel behavior.

On Saturday, September 16, police officers from Kolbuszowa (Podkarpackie Voivodeship) intervened on Narutowicza Street. A resident of Kolbuszรณw County was walking past trash cans when she heard disturbing noises.
She could not ignore the terrible scream. She immediately looked inside the closed container. An unpleasant sight appeared before her eyes. The baby cat was kicking a plastic bag, its cry was heartbreaking. The woman did her best: she picked up the phone and called 911.

The Kolbuszรณw police arrived at the scene shortly after. They conducted an inspection and made sure that the cat would receive proper care. The little animal was taken to a veterinarian, who examined whether the time spent in a tightly closed bag had a negative impact on its health.
It didn’t take long for the Kolbuszรณw police to find out what had really happened. Almost immediately, they found the man responsible for abandoning the animal. The 77-year-old man explained himself in an unusual way.

The crime department officers identified the perpetrator of the crime almost immediately. The 77-year-old man showed remorse and admitted his crime.
“He pleaded guilty and regretted his behavior. He explained that the cat had strayed onto his property and he did not know what to do with it,” the Kolbuszowa District Police Prefecture reported.
The man was charged with animal cruelty. He faces up to 3 years in prison.
