In the animal kingdom, it is rare for puppies to be abandoned by their mother, but this type of case usually happens, fortunately there are people who look after the well-being of all kinds of animals, like Alida the did with a wolf cub that she was rejected by her mother in a shelter.

Kira is a wolf who was abandoned by her mother when she was only three days old and couldn’t survive in the wild. Unfortunately, Kira’s mother didn’t accept her, and neither did her siblings. So the shelter staff had to decide what to do with them.

Kira’s mother lived with a family, but they couldn’t take care of her and she ended up in the shelter. her babies were born there, but she immediately rejected them.

Alida told Bored Panda:

I took her out of daycare when she was 28 days old. She’s smart but very stubborn. When she makes decisions, she focuses on herself, not me. From the start, I started the process of their socialization. I saw many dogs, people and children.

The only way to give Kira another chance was to train her to be a pet, and Alida was ready to take care of her.

His socialization process was an important part of his upbringing, as wolves are generally afraid of new things in their environment.

The woman walked with Kira through different places so she could experience smells, sounds, and get used to a strange environment for her.

Alida said:

It was a very difficult, long and tedious process, but necessary for Kira to be able to live with me in an urban environment and feel comfortable.

In training there were a lot of problems, but all of them were solved over time and little by little the work paid off.

Her domestic personality emerged and she began to socialize with people, she did not respond to aggression from other dogs and tried to be calm. Soon, Kira got used to the modern world and embarked on hundreds of adventures, becoming an incredible and fearless tame wolf.

Kira is now one year old and loved by her family, especially her 7-year-old brother, whom she treats with great love.

Alida commented:

People are reacting with curiosity on the street, asking for pictures and asking if it’s safe to live with a wolf, especially since I have a child at home.”

The woman tries to answer questions from passers-by and clarifies that living with Kira is the best thing that could have happened to them. In real life, people act normal towards Kira because she is friendly, but on the internet a lot of people disagree.

For them, having a predatory animal at home is stupid and dangerous, but they don’t really know Kira’s true story.

Alida added:

“We live with it, breaking people’s stereotypes about wolves. Is it difficult to educate such a beast competently? Very. But he knew what he was doing.

After so much work and dedication, Kira is fully domesticated and a normal pet like any other who appreciates her comfort.
