Whenever Catey Hall visits her dad, she’ll likely find him napping on the couch, but the man is never alone. He is usually accompanied by his pets, but the most curious thing is that the neighborhood dogs join the siesta to form a big pile.
Catey told The Dodo:
Dad sees, plays and naps with one or more of these dogs daily. They come running when they see his car and follow him inside.
Catey’s father, Lon Watson, has always loved dogs, loving them so much he even volunteers for the local rescue center Pound on the Hill. There, the kind-hearted man makes sure all the rescued animals get the much-needed help and find a home.

According to Catey, Lon always helps homeless dogs, and throughout his life he has seen how he saves many animals in need.
catey said:
Growing up, we always had a dog. But there was always room for a stray in need. Now that he lives alone with his wife, there is room for many.
He even works with other rescue centers in the area to find suitable homes for dogs rescued from the streets. However, not all manage to move, and some stay with dad Lon for the rest of their lives.
Currently, Lon has four dogs living in his home, all of which were rescued and rehabilitated by him and his wife.
But, unsurprisingly, he receives daily visits from several dogs who live near his home and have a special bond with him. Hooch, Fluffer-Nutter, and Rosie usually wait all day to spend alone time with Lon, which makes them very happy.
Fortunately, the neighborhood is semi-rural, so the houses are away from the streets, where the dogs can run safely.
Katey added:
Usually the dogs can hear my dad’s truck coming and find him in the driveway.
Lon’s relationship with visiting dogs is quite special, as they seem to be more than just friends. Best of all, Lon’s human neighbors don’t mind his spending time with their pets and will never get in the way of his nap time.
Everything seems to indicate that Lon has a strong energy that dogs perceive, so everyone wants to be and spend time with him. Even when the man visits his daughter, Catey’s two dogs try to get home with Lon.
Without a doubt, being a good person with animals made them feel that Lon is the right person to care for and protect them.
