A lost little kitten appeared out of nowhere in the middle of the street where Katie Long was passing. He was meowing loudly and his mother was nowhere to be found. It seems that the animal has ruined the woman’s plans. Meanwhile, something completely different happened.
Sometimes stray dogs or cats appear in our lives by accident, when humans and animals need closeness the most. It is impossible to say if then we can speak of fate, but the situation that unfolded in the United States gives hope that force majeure could be at the origin of the unforeseen encounters.
The little kitten separated from his family
Katie Long was returning from a weekend in Mountain View, Arkansas, when she noticed a small animal in the middle of the road. The woman stopped the car and stared at him in disbelief for a long time. On the asphalt stood a frightened and soaked kitten.
Long thought at first that the animal’s mother might be hiding nearby, but after a careful look around, she decided the weeks-old purr was all on her own. The poor guy didn’t know where to go, so he desperately fought for a stranger’s attention.
“We tried to find his mother, but without success,” Long told The Dodo. – When I put him down, he came back to me crying… which made me cry.
The woman was aware that leaving the baby in the middle of the street was tantamount to condemning it to illness or, even worse, to starvation or under the wheels of an oncoming car. She therefore took him with her to the car and headed for the nearest store to ask local residents about the owner of the animal.
The American accosted people having lunch outside the store, but sadly no one knew about the newborn kittens in the area.
“Everyone looked at me like I was crazy,” she recalls. As the hours passed, Long slowly came to terms with the fact that she should probably drop the kitten off at the local animal shelter. She almost gave up hope, but out of the corner of her eye she saw a man walking towards the mailbox. He was her last hope.
The animal had a happy ending
Long quickly ran out of the car and called out to a strange man, clutching a small kitten to his chest. He was clearly surprised to see the animal, but luckily, he quickly gathered the facts.
“I asked him if he knew where his family was. And he said, ‘Oh yeah, I think Bill’s cat just had kittens!’ said the sitter of the lost pet. The woman drove to the address, where she saw three roof trees in the yard. One of them looked a lot like a kitten she met on the street, so there was a strong possibility that he was her mother.
It turned out that Long’s suspicions were confirmed. The male immediately ran to the adult cat, and she was clearly happy that her baby was home. She immediately started washing and feeding them. Shortly after, Katie left the property with tears in her eyes and a smile on her face, happy that the mission to find a family of cats had been a success.
