This adorable six-month-old Shar Pei, named Harvey, is winning hearts all over the internet with his unique appearance. People often say the little one is so wrinkled that he looks more like a blanket or even a rug than a puppy, but his mother, Teresa Moll Arguimbau, says his wrinkles make him ideal for cuddling.
The adorable pup was born on October 9 in Menorca, Spain. Harvey lives with his mother, an adorable dog named Chloe, after his two brothers left for their eternal homes.
His first days of life were very difficult, as Harvey presented vision problems. Shar Pei pups may need medical staples in the skin near their eyes to open them, but Harvey had a lot more wrinkles than his siblings, and the staples didn’t help him.

Teresa told Bored Panda:
“It caused his eyes to get infected and for two months he couldn’t see, and the vet started putting stitches around his eyes to help them open up more. Every week, we would go to the vet and they would readjust the stitches and also give Harvey antibiotics, as well as eye cream.”
Due to the pup’s difficult medical situation, vets couldn’t rule out if the infection had permanently affected his eyes, but after struggling for more than five months, Harvey finally saw him again.
His mother says:
“It was a blessing the day Harvey followed my finger with his eyes because for months he was bumping into doors, chairs, tables, beds and couldn’t play because he was afraid to move. .”
The health issues that most affect the Shar Pei breed are skin fold infections and eye diseases. They may also develop an illness that causes fever and joint pain commonly known as Shar Pei fever.
Teresa is taking advantage of the Harvey’s popularity to not only entertain internet users with her daily adventures, but she also shares some tips on caring for the breed.
The woman says:
“The truth is that I did not expect this great affection from Internet users. I discovered a great digital community and a family with whom I talk a lot and interact with almost every day. Thanks to some of them, I was able to exchange a lot of advice, learn new things and above all be able to share Harvey’s daily life with people”.
Harvey is a local star and, according to his mother, he usually attracts attention whenever they go out. Living on an island where everyone knows each other has made this adorable little dog very popular.
Harvey has a great personality. Teresa says she likes to spend time looking at where the sun is and can stay there for long periods of time, although her mother keeps an eye out because if she spends a lot of time in the sun her face becomes red.
The adorable puppy is very affectionate with his family, he is always close and very aware of everything that is going on around him.
Teresa added:
“He also likes to play with Chloe a lot, although sometimes he gets jealous when he hears us. He likes to be the center of attention. Every other day I take him to the beach, since we live near the sea , and he loves it. He really likes sand, but not so much water.
