The charity called Bark Nation organized a rescue in Michigan at a place that was meant for dogfighting.

The rescue operation carried out in November 2021 found 107 dogs that were intended for this type of event. One of these dogs responds to the name of Turquey and had lost his sight due to his presence inside these circuits.

Although Turquey was saved, lack of vision conditioned her life.

According to Jessica Brown, Director of Operations at Bark Nation. The puppy lost his sense of sight during these events, but this does not detract from his life expectancy.

The aforementioned headmistress was very shocked when she found the dog with a very heavy chain around him and inside a shabby doghouse. When he was recovered, the facility provided him with medical care.

“Going through the doors and out can be scary for Turquey, especially when there is a lot of noise. So, our team got a special car that we now drive out Turquey every day,” Brown said.

“Turquey is the SWEETEST dog and has captured the hearts of every one of our volunteers,” Brown said. “Turquey is looking for an adoptive home until he finds his life – or an adopter! Luckily, he’ll have a Disney movie marathon, eat cheese pizza, and cuddle his parents all day on the He’s done well with other dogs here at the shelter, but they’ll need slow introductions with any pets in the house (and our team will be happy to help make that easier),” said the rescuer.

“In Bark Nation, Turquey is known as the King. After all, he IS royalty. His Highness has a special coach and a totally dedicated entourage to take and accompany him wherever he needs to go, including included on fun outings! He absolutely LOVES it!” the charity said on social media.

Happy Turquey

Luckily, this pup’s ending was truly hopeful. We want all animals to be able to find a home where their food is guaranteed, but above all that they are given a lot of love.
