Steam Year in Review 2025 Is Live: Here’s What Gamers Can Discover About Their Playtime

Music streaming platforms have already wrapped up their annual recaps, and now it’s time for gamers to do the same. Valve has officially launched the Steam Year in Review 2025, a dedicated page where users can explore their personal gaming statistics for the year. This feature gives players a detailed look at how they spent their time on Steam between January 1 and December 14, 2025.

Once you open your Steam yearly summary, you’ll find a wide range of interesting data. The overview includes the number of games you launched, how many achievements you unlocked, your longest consecutive gaming streak in days, and much more. One of the most engaging aspects is the ability to compare your stats with the Steam average, letting you see whether you play more or fewer games than the typical Steam user.

For Steam Deck owners, Valve has added an extra layer of detail. The yearly recap highlights Deck-specific data, showing how much time you spent gaming on the handheld compared to desktop play. This makes the summary especially appealing for players who split their time across multiple devices.

According to Valve’s aggregated data, older games continue to dominate player attention in 2025. Only 14% of total playtime was spent on games released this year. Titles aged 1 to 7 years accounted for 44%, while classic games older than 8 years made up 40% of total playtime. These numbers confirm that nostalgia, long-term engagement, and well-supported titles still outweigh the hype around new releases.

It’s worth noting that the statistics do not include offline playtime or sessions without an internet connection. Privacy-conscious users can also relax: games hidden by privacy settings will not be publicly revealed. Your guilty pleasures remain safely confidential.

Sharing your Steam Year in Review is easy. You can generate a shareable link or download your stats as an image. Simply click the “Share” button at the top or bottom of the page, choose one of the three available formats, and save it to your device. It’s a fun way to show off your gaming habits—or laugh at them—with friends and online communities.

Finally, there’s more good news for gamers. The Steam Winter Sale begins tomorrow at 21:00 Moscow time, offering major discounts and the chance to vote in the Steam Awards. The nominees were previously selected during the Black Friday sale, so now it’s time to support your favorite games of the year.
