When Gianna Llewellyn and her boyfriend, Rob, moved into an apartment in Brooklyn, New York, in August, they didn’t know they would be greeted by a cute cat couple, who came over to say “Hi.”

While they were fixing some furniture in their new home, an orange tabby cat and a black cat came to the apartment window. The cat couple were observing everything, but they seemed hungry, so Rob gave them some food and almost immediately they finished it.

The cats always walked together and began visiting the apartment every day, intending to get some food and petting.

Gianna told The Dodo:

โ€œThey started coming back every night after that. They meowed, waited at the door and slept on the windowsill. โ€œ

After a while, the cat couple called Miso and Suki, were already approaching the apartment with the intention of being let in.

Rob and Gianna had earned their trust, so the cats spent time in the house, rested in the garden, and snuggled on the windowsill at night.

Gianna commented:

โ€œThey perched on the windowsill while Miso (orange cat) groomed Suki (black cat). They were always in sight. They even followed us when we were outside.โ€

Miso was the most sociable cat and used to meow repeatedly to be allowed into the house; it seemed they wanted to be adopted.

Although the cats were very thin, Gianna noticed that something strange was happening with Suki, because she had a bigger belly than Miso and she was lying down.

Gianna added:

โ€œThey were both quite young when we met them. Suki was very thin, but for some reason, her belly seemed to be a bit big. So, we think, ‘Is she pregnant or is it worse.โ€

Gianna wanted to take them to the vet, so she bought a couple of cardboard boxes from the pet store to transport them.

It seemed that the cute cat couple hated being apart, so Miso punched a hole in the box so she could observe everything Suki was doing.

Gianna said:

“They kept meowing at each other from the cardboard boxes, making sure the other was okay.”

The vet confirmed the suspicions. Suki was pregnant, possibly due to give birth in a couple of weeks, and Miso was probably the father of the babies.

Gianna decided to go to the Little Wanderers NYC Rescue Center for help. In the place they treated Miso, he was neutered and vaccinated. Rob and Gianna officially became the adoptive parents of the two cats, took them in and installed them in their home.

The cat couple began exploring the interior of the apartment that day, one room at a time, and then snuggled up quietly to rest.

One night, Rob and Gianna came home, and they saw Suki on a towel with four newborn kittens by her side. At the time they thought they had missed the big event, but the cat continued in labor, giving birth to 7 kittens in all.

During labor, Miso was always very nervous, anxious and checked that everything was fine; his presence comforted the future mother.

Gianna commented:

โ€œEvery time she screamed for a contraction; Miso would run to be next to her. They are the perfect couple”.

The little babies were cared for and suckled by their mother properly, while the new father looked at the kittens and sniffed them curiously.

The kittens grew incredibly and managed to overcome any difficulties; Miso was always looking out for them and Suki. Fortunately, Gianna and Rob were able to get permanent homes for all the kittens, and they decided to stay with Miso and Suki forever.

Now, the cute cat couple will never have to worry about separating and they can continue with a life full of love.
