Daisy Austin, is the adoption coordinator of an animal hospital located in West Hollywood, California, and she met the beautiful Marmie, a cat who, with her sad eyes, managed to immediately attract her attention during ‘an adoption event at South LA Animal Shelter two years ago.
The woman had no plans to adopt another cat that day, but Marmie stole her heart.
The cat was in a room out of public reach, and when Daisy entered, she approached her, rubbing her face on her fingers and purring all the time.
Cat with sad eyes thanks the person who saved her
The cat was found on the streets and arrived at the shelter in terrible conditions. She was only 4.5 pounds, covered in dirt, had small wounds around her face and a serious upper respiratory infection.
She just wanted to feel loved and knowing the financial situation of the shelter, Daisy knew she had to act quickly to help her.
Daisy said to Love Meow:
It was difficult because I had a 16-year-old cat at home, but I had to do something quickly. I had to give him a second chance.
The cat was very grateful so she spent several hours hugging her new mother, she knew she would be safe next to Daisy and that she would never have to live on the streets of Los Angeles again.
Although it is estimated that Marmie was about 10 years old when she was rescued, she always acted as if she was much younger.
Marmie tested positive for FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) and was diagnosed with stomatitis (gum inflammation), Ehler-Danlos syndrome (EDS, a condition that affects the connective tissues of the body) and other chronic diseases (such as feline respiratory tract).
Still, the sad-eyed cat was a pretty good fighter, and thanks to the love and care they gave her, she started to gain weight.

Her will to live is unbeatable. All the doctors who examined her and saw her story are amazed.
She has become a beautiful 11.5 pound cat, enjoys walking with her mother and enjoys sunbathing and eating.
Marmie accompanies Daisy everywhere as if she were her bodyguard. Every night she snuggles up next to him and doesn’t sleep anywhere else, she is very thankful and happy.
Marmie is currently 12 years old, but she continues to be very sweet and cheerful.

She was on the street starving with so many health problems for so many years. I think she is really in love with me to make her feel better. And, of course, I’m more than in love with her.
