This dog who lived on the street was ignored by thousands of visitors to the city, but she was rescued thanks to a kind-hearted woman
Can you imagine what it is like to live on the streets, enduring hunger and cold, and see thousands of people pass by and that no one offers you a helping hand? This is what thousands of dogs live in the streets, that day by day they fight to survive.
In Romania, in a small tourist town that is visited by thousands of people a year, a visiting Finnish tourist saw a defenseless dog that she had noticed several times; this little animal lived in a little corner and many ignored him.
The kind-hearted woman, observing the need that the dog was going through, contacted Howl Of A Dog, a non-profit animal rescue organization located in Romania.

Upon arriving at the site, the managers of the Vivien and Bogdan rescue center, spoke with the inhabitants of the place, who commented that the dog had lived in the neighborhood for several years. Everyone knew her, she was accepted by the locals as “the neighborhood bitch.”
She roamed the neighborhood begging for scraps from passersby and fending for herself every day, without any medical attention and exposed to the dangers of living on the street.
The rescuers named her Helen, and describe her as the cutest, calmest, most friendly and very polite dog.
Upon being rescued and taken to the refuge located in Romania, she was immediately subjected to medical examinations to assess her condition; As you may know, many homeless dogs suffer from multiple diseases and malnutrition.
After testing, Helen was found to have Anaplamosis, a tick-borne disease that is fortunately treatable and curable.
Due to the plastic tag that Helen had on her ear, it was evidenced that she was captured as a stray in 2013, she was sterilized and then released back into the street. So, she has been single for at least 6 years.
Helen was treated with antibiotics and received all kinds of attention to make all her problems go away and she was strong again.
Once recovered, she Helen was put up for adoption, and within a few months she was taken in by Evelyn Hendrickx and her beautiful family who give her all the affection and love that she deserves.

Now Helen finds herself in a beautiful place with many wooded areas and alleys where she can enjoy a full and happy life.
