A woman went to clean up an abandoned house, and when she checked the attic to organize and clean it, she was incredibly surprised, because there was a dog there who had apparently been stuck there for several days.
The woman was cleaning a house in Carbon County, Pa., And when she found the dog locked in the attic, she was unsure of what decision to make. So, she decided to call her sister-in-law, Jami Lassell, who told her that in a few minutes she would come and help the dog.
Jami told The Dodo:
“I told her: I’ll be there in 10 minutes, she replied: I’m only warning you, she’s skin on her bones. I don’t know the last time they gave him something to eat.”
A woman changes the life of a dog
No one knew exactly how long the dog had been stuck in the attic, but they soon realized her name was Remi. They also noticed that he bit the walls and the door, to escape from this place, which was full of excrement and fleas.
Jami finally came home and met the dog, and was surprised by the warm and loving welcome she gave him.
The woman added:
“She is the most loving dog I have ever met. As soon as she saw me her tail started wagging, she just wanted love.”
Jami’s original plan was to welcome Remi until he was healthy and then find him a loving home to continue his life as he deserved. But from the moment Remi set foot in Jami’s house, the plans totally changed as he stole everyone’s hearts.
Jami commented:
“She came home with me and I thought, I can’t give up on her.”
Remi was given a few medicated baths to fight fleas, they also fed her delicious meals and then took her to the vet.
There, they learned that Remi had an injured leg and would likely need surgery to fully recover from his injury.
Despite all the pain the dog had endured, she always proved to be a loving creature and fondled everyone she met.
Jamie said:
“Every time she sees someone, her tail wags and her ears stick up.”
Remi is also very patient, especially when it comes to Jami’s four young children, knowing that they are his foster siblings. Even Jami says the dog is better with children than with other animals, since she lets them do what they want.
Jamie added:
“We have four kids at home, and she lets them pull her, stroke her. Whatever a child does, she will let him.”
After spending a few weeks in their new home, Rémi bonded with his 9 month old brother. They get along very well, they became best friends and became inseparable, they want to do everything together, they even sleep together next to Jami.
Without a doubt, thanks to Jami’s kind heart, Remi managed to transform into a happy and healthy dog, as he should have been from the start.
Now Remi is enjoying the love of his adorable family and they are happy to have the unexpected addition of the dog to their home.
