When Lexi, a boxer dog was just a puppy, she did the unthinkable. After taking a walk outside one day and getting completely soaked in mud, she ran inside and dove for the most comfortable target in the house: the living room couch.
Mud was everywhere, and unfortunately for the sofa, muddy legs on the cushions quickly became a habit. That’s why the family forbade Lexi to get on the couch.
Donna Wolford, Lexi’s mother, told The Dodo:
As soon as he walks into the house, he goes straight to the canapes.

Donna began training Lexi to stay off the couch and only sit on her bed, and Lexi soon learned that the couch was off limits. But it wasn’t long before the clever little dog “forgot” his mother’s rule.
In canine logic, you are not lying on the sofa if your hind legs are still on the ground.
Donna wrote on Facebook:
This is what happens when your Boxer knows he’s not supposed to get on the couch, but the urge to sleep is just too strong…I don’t know how he fell asleep in this position.
But Lexi, now 1.5 years old, has become so comfortable with the way she uses the sofa that she has even fallen asleep on it. Meanwhile, her older sister, Lucy, isn’t so interested in sleeping there.
Donna said:
We’ve done a really good job of forbidding him to sit on the sofa, but he always tends to bend the rules. If there’s someone on the sofa, sit like that to be with them .
He also likes to climb into bed with his human brother to hug him.
While Lexi clearly likes to show off her rebellious side, Donna and the rest of the family just let her have fun with it. After all, it’s pretty hard to resist those sweet eyes.
Donna added:
She knows perfectly well that she shouldn’t be on the couch. She can be very resourceful when it comes to circumventing authority. Use her kindness to your advantage.
