One day a new cat came to the patio to say hello. Cat owners thought it was a neighborhood cat and didn’t give it much thought until it returned, with a neighbor mentioning it was a stray cat that lived in the neighborhood for years.
As soon as they heard this, they called him Ziggy and immediately started trying to convince him.
Ziggy started to come and eat twice a day, but at first, he was too afraid of being touched. His new friends wanted to find a way for him to feel safe every time he walked past him, so they decided to build him a little house of his own.
They figured that if he was still distant as the colder months approached, he would also have a warm place to stay, and they started feeding him there to get used to it.
Renee the cats’ mom, told The Dodo:
After a few weeks of feeding, I could finally touch him while he was eating. But as soon as he finished his food, he didn’t want to be touched.

The couple were still trying to figure out what to do with Ziggy, whether they should continue to feed him outside until he felt more comfortable or try to carry him inside, until one day, they found him huddled in his cottage.
He was injured and needed help. They quickly took him to the vet and had the operation he needed, and after that they took him home.
The couple had built an outdoor chalet in Ziggy so that he had his own space to feel safe, but in the end, it was his home where he truly found security and comfort in the form of a new eternal family.
