Blaze is a beautiful black Labrador who has lived with his family for 10 years in Finland. Since birth he had a beautiful black color that characterized him, but about a year ago he began to change color.
One day he started turning white around his muzzle, something that seemed normal to his family; they thought it was part of the aging process.
Although her face grew whiter with each passing day, Blaze still felt young, enjoying playing outside, running in the woods, and jumping in the snow.
The black labrador changes color unexpectedly
But as the days passed, her father noticed that the white spots were appearing around her ears and continuing to spread to other parts of her body.
Santeri Frilander, father of Blaze, told The Dodo:
“At first we thought he was getting older, but the white color started showing up more and more month by month. Other dogs from the same litter stayed one color.”
Before long, white fur covered almost all of Blaze’s face. It quickly spread to his shoulders and legs.
His father realized that this physical phenomenon was not caused by age, but rather by a skin disease called vitiligo.
When animals develop this type of disease, their skin loses some of its natural pigment, resulting in white spots on their fur. This condition may be related to other medical issues, but luckily Blaze was completely healthy, not knowing it was any different.
Its new coat, with black and white markings, gives the dog a unique look; that their parents love and attract people’s attention.
Santeria said:
“Vitiligo is just a cosmetic problem. Blaze is a good example of the beauty of difference.”
Blaze loves to be the center of attention and his beautiful fur has won over fans at home and on social media.
The family decided to share a photo of the handsome dog sitting on a popular Facebook group, called Dogspotting Society, and it went viral. The cute photo has generated over 10,000 likes, and people can’t help admiring and praising Blaze’s mesmerizing physical appearance.
Santeria said:
“Blaze is very friendly and gets along with everyone. He is always happy and wants to be where something is happening.”
The change in his fur color hasn’t altered his brother ‘Punto’ look either, they are still inseparable.
Both puppies love spending time together, they hang out together, sleep together, play together and have a special relationship full of love.
Santeria said:
“They make a fun couple. Blaze is 74lbs and Punto is 3lbs, but Punto is the boss.”
Despite his color change, Blaze’s family knows he’s handsome inside and out, and they would never change a thing about him.
To date, Blaze has become an example of unique beauty, which people admire with great satisfaction.
