Milena, a volunteer with Chatons Orphelins Montrรฉal, a rescue center for cats in Montreal, Canada, was on her way to meet another volunteer as she left a veterinary clinic and decided to take an alternate route. The woman noticed that a gray kitten was looking at her curiously, and seeing the kindness she was receiving from her, the kitten took her little sister with her.
Milena called the curious feline and immediately approached her excited. The woman offered her some food that the little girl happily enjoyed.
Celine Crom from Chatons Orphelins Montrรฉal told Love Meow:
โIt was then that she noticed that the kitten was pregnant with a big belly. She seemed to be hungry, so Milena opened a can of food that she had in her purse.
Kitten took her sister to the woman who gave her care
While she was happily enjoying the food, the kitten stopped in the middle of everything and began to meow and purr.
Celine says:
At first, Milena thought that the kitten was happy to have something to eat, making happy little meows, but suddenly, she heard another cat coming up behind her.
Out of nowhere, another black and white kitten appeared next to Milena and immediately joined the banquet; apparently the gray kitten’s meows were an invitation to her sister to eat. The woman was relieved to have been in that place at that time.
Fortunately, she had an empty pet carrier with her, had just happened to transport a cat to the clinic, and everything seemed predestined.
Milena came a little closer to caress them and realized that they were very loving. As soon as they finished eating they rubbed themselves gratefully on the woman, the adorable kittens seemed to understand that they would be safe and about to leave street life behind.
Celine added:
They were less than a year old, probably from the same litter. No microchip was found. We decided to call them Freya (gray) and Keisha (black and white).
Before long, Freya gave birth to four premature babies who sadly did not survive despite efforts to save them. After this difficult experience, the sisters know that they will not go through life on the streets again and were sterilized.
In the foster home they quickly adapted to the life of indoor cats. After the painful experience, Keisha stayed with Freya, comforting her and making her feel safe.
After the sterilization procedure, sweet Keisha sought to wash her sister’s face, although her cones made her task difficult.
Celine said:
The two share a very strong bond. They complement each other and are always together.
Freya takes refuge in her sister and they could be seen together with her cones, leaning against each other, as they enjoyed spending the day looking through the window. The lovely sisters have prospered quite a bit since their arrival at the foster home; they are naughty and very active.
Celine added:
Keisha is very active, curious and rowdy, and Freya is sweet and calm. They are the perfect couple. Keisha is not afraid of anything and she loves to climb the cat tree. She has a hoarse meow that sometimes falls silent. Freya is laid back, she loves to hug and rub her head against her people for affection.
The sisters are very close and it is strange not to find them together, they are always pending if one decides to move to another place; They enjoy snuggling together, and they take care of each other.
Freya and Keisha are about a year old and completely ready to find a permanent home, where they can be very loved and spend the rest of their lives together.
