Refugio Martínez Esparza, known to many as Don Cuco, has become a viral phenomenon on social media and various media in Mexico due to his unconditional love and tireless search for his dog Chihuahua.
Grandfather cries when he finds his stolen dog
Nani, as the animal was called, was robbed at a gas station, and this 81-year-old grandfather could barely bear the deep pain of losing his faithful companion. However, Don Cuco did not sit idly by in this situation and asked for help from whomever was needed.
He did not rest and every day he stood guard at the gas station hoping that the person who took the dog would repent and return to the scene to return it to him. “She is my whole life,” commented the man on channel Canal 44, a phrase that unfortunately led him to break up.
“I live alone, I am totally abandoned, I have no one and my dog has been my companion for years. To whoever took it, I beg in the most attentive way to return it to me because I will die of sadness and my dog loves me a lot too, tears come to his eyes as he hasn’t seen me all day,” he added sadly.
The case moved many people and quickly spread across the country. People shared the posts where Don Cuco appeared asking for help and joined the cause to find Nani. Thanks to this noble act, they finally managed to find him alone on the street and quickly achieved the long-awaited reunion.
When the grandfather saw the chihuahua, he couldn’t help but cry with joy. He could only hold her in his arms and be happy to finally have her with him. “Where have you been, my daughter?
